Be aware that RGBW LED strip lights have various types. This product on this page is equipped with the RGBWW(RGB Warm White) 4-in-1 LEDs. There are also RGBW light strips that are built with alternating placed RGB LED and white LED, which is also referred to as RGB+WW LED strip. RGB+WW LED strip produces lighting distributed not as good as the 4-in-1 RGBWW LED strips beause the LEDs distance is larger.

RGBW LED strip needs an RGBW LED controller to work. It can produce almost any color you like, stay in one color, red, green, blue, purple, orange, pink, white, and many more. With these colors, it also creates many color changing modes, flash, fading, strobe, etc. It is perfect for places that desires multiple color changing effects and high quality white lighting.

Should you choose RGB or RGBW LED strip lights?

The major difference between RGB and RGBW LED strips is that RGBW strip can provide better quality white light. The better quality white means a white light with pure color temperature. For example, RGB LED strip light can produce white that is close to warm white, but not pure warm white. Better quality also means a high color render index(CRI). The white light emitted by mixing RGB together is poor in CRI value, not comparable to the pure white LEDs. So if you need not only RGB color changing lighting, but also better white lighting, RGBW LED strip lights are the best choice.

Another difference between RGB and RGBW LED strips is that RGBW LED light strips can generate richer, more vibrant, and more saturated colors than RGB strips. This is because the white light is added to enrich the mixing result.
